Stena Line Contract Award
19-Aug-2011
Matrix are delighted to announce that they have secured a 2 year contract to develop and deliver specialist training for Stena Line, the Ferry and Port owning company. The training course, to be known as the Disruptive Passenger ToolKiT®, is aimed, as the name suggests, at ferry crews faced with dealing with difficult, challenging passengers.
Captain Andy Humphreys, the Designated Person Ashore, who is responsible for all safety matters in Stena Line, said “From time to time we are faced with passengers who can be a challenge in terms of their attitude and behaviour. This can be alcohol or drugs related and they can present a threat to other passengers, crew, staff ashore and indeed themselves. Working alongside Matrix we have jointly developed a one day training course aimed at providing our staff with the skills and confidence they need in helping de-escalate tensions before they develop further. The law enforcement background of the Matrix team coupled with their excellent training reputation made them an obvious choice and we look forward to working with them in the coming 2 years”.
Mr Mhorvan Sherret, Director at Matrix added “We are delighted and excited at the prospect of delivering training to a major company such as Stena Line. They recognised there was a gap and we were more than happy to develop a bespoke training experience. Safety is clearly a priority for Stena Line and I have no doubt this course will add value”
